In my free time, I love to kayak, hike, and be a kind friend to those I love! Outside of these off-campus activities, you will often find me around campus in a purple polo giving tours through the Office of Admissions to prospective families & sharing my love for JMU! My competitive shooting experience started when I was 9 years old in the 4-H Shooting Education program. As one of JMU’s current Range Safety Officers, I owe all of the knowledge I have and my passion for the sport to my coaches and teammates!
Lindsay Toothaker (2023 Team)

Hi! My name is Lindsay and I’m from Frederick, MD. I love archery but I also am involved with the JMU Marching Royal Dukes and play the clarinet! In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, and hiking and paddleboarding are some of my favorite activities. I first was introduced to archery at a Girl Scout camp and got my first bow when I was 10. I started competing with the Tuscarora Archers JOAD team when I was 14 and first found out about JMU from seeing the archery team at competitions! Fun fact: my favorite type of archery is outdoor :)
Leigh Shaffer (2022 Team)
Major: Social Work​
I'm a big crafty person! I sew, knit, crochet, cross-stitch, shuttle tat, and paint t-shirts. I'll do just about anything that involves needles/hooks and thread/yarn. I've also played percussion for the past 12 years, and I was the section leader for the JMU Marching Royal Dukes Front Ensemble for the past two years. I'm also going to VCU this summer to start my Master's degree! I joined the team on a whim with some friends during freshman year. My friends all fell off but I stayed because I enjoyed it so much. I've been involved with the team all 4 years at JMU and hope to continue shooting after I graduate.
